NCFC Internship Trainee Program

Social Work Specialization

Social Work specialization allows student interns to work with individuals, families, groups, and organizations. The focus of the program is to work with target populations in ways that enable and empower them to participate in the social work change process. The social work program prepares individuals to be agents for change and to work effectively in an increasingly complex, culturally and racially diverse society. Individuals in the program will learn to understand and respond to racism, sexism, homophobia, and other forms of oppression that create and maintain barriers to well-being and participation in society.
